Walking There
are some delightful walks in the area. For example the footpaths along the Saints Way, or the spectacular views from the coastal
path. The National Trust headland "Gribben Head" with its Daymark tower opens some weekends in the summer. Circular walks are possible via public footpaths, bridleways
and roads.
Gardens As well as Eden and the Lost Gardens of Heligan, the local Marsh Villa
Gardens (www.marshvillagardens.co.uk) are within 2 miles of us and are somewhat quieter!
Beaches
The local beaches are Polkerris (www.polkerrisbeach.com) (2 miles), Par (1 mile), Readymoney Cove (3 miles) plus numerous other small beaches and coves, accessible from the
Cornish coastal path. There is a local bus service at the bottom of our lane.
Daphne DuMaurier Tywardreath
means "House on the Strand" which is also the title of one of Daphne's novels. The excellent DuMaurier Festival
is held once a year in Fowey. (www.dumaurier.org)
Wildlife As
well as all the countryside, coastal and river wildlife, less than 5 minutes away is the WINGZ Bird and Animal Gardens.
Set in approx 3 acres of Cornish Countryside and with over 50 species of Birds and Animals including a family of Meerkats.

Finally, why not explore the beautiful Luxulyan
Valley with its spectacular viaduct, old mine workings and tramways at Ponts Mill. A visit to the China Clay
